Mindy West - Vice President Education

Mindy retired in March, 2017 after 35 years with the FDIC. At retirement, she held the post of Deputy Director, Strategic Planning and Resource Management in the Division of Risk Management. Mindy’s career was fun and multi-faceted. She began her career in Harrisburg, PA as a field examiner. She worked in training, both at the FDIC’s training center and also administered programs for the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC). Mindy worked over 15 years in the RMS Policy and Program area as a Senior Examination Specialist, then section chief and finally as Acting Associate Director. Mindy served on many details. Her most interesting one was her one year as Special Advisor at the Commission Bancaire, Bank of France in Paris. This combined Mindy’s love of all things French with international banking and the policy development with the Basel Committee.

Mindy currently resides in Bethesda, MD. She has two grown children, Josh and Rebecca, who together with their wonderful spouses have blessed Mindy with four grandchildren. Dylan and Miles, three-year old very active twins, who reside in Boston, and Lily, 5, and Zia, 2 who live in London, England.
