William J. Smith II - Director At Large

Starting at a young age Bill has been a volunteer.  He became a volunteer fireman at the age of 13 and served for 10 years, first as Chief of the Junior Department and then as an adult Lieutenant.  He attended Ohio Buckeye Boys State sponsored by the American Legion.  He was sworn in as a law enforcement officer on his 21st birthday and served as both a Special Deputy Sheriff and Village Deputy Marshall working special events and traffic during his weekends home from college.  He completed the Ohio Peace Officers Training Course.  He is an alumnus of Morehead State University, Morehead, KY with a BBA in Business Administration.  He later graduated from The Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. 

Bill has been retired for 7 years after serving 41 years with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a Commissioned Bank Examiner. 

He has served on both local and community wide homeowners association boards.  He currently volunteers at multiple locations; principally as a blacksmith building interpreter. These sites include several historical museums, a living farm, and an arboretum.  He serves on the board of a community historical society.

Bill and wife Pat have three children and five grandchildren.  Both are enjoying their retirement by traveling, spending time with family, friends, and being engaged in community activities.
